"Family Dog" Episode Guide v1.1.0 (c) 1996, Tom Walsh (avs@netport.com) This guide may be reproduced in its entirety for noncommercial purposes only. For other uses, please contact the author. The following is an episode guide for the show "Family Dog." It is not quite complete as I hope to add information on the last two episodes. The text version is available at the AVIMall: http://www.avimall.com/entertain/FamilyDog.txt A pointer to this site is available at the Ultimate TV List: http://tvnet.com/UTVL/ Also http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/9821/1fam-dog.txt Of course, there is a page at the Internet Movie Database: http://us.imdb.com/M/title-exact?%22Family%20Dog%22%20(1993) Thanks go to me for watching each episode a few times to do this guide. It's really not that bad, though. Special thanks also go to Torsten Kracke (tokra@dungeon.mbis.de) for vetting the guide and providing information on the last two episodes. ABOUT THE SHOW: "Family Dog" was a cartoon that ran on CBS in 1993 in primetime. It came from episode 40 of Steven Spielberg's "Amazing Stories" entitled "Family Dog" [production no. 61533], shown on February 16, 1987, about a mischievous family dog and his unloving family. Because the executive producers included Tim Burton and Steven Spielberg, TV executives drooled over the thought of getting this as a series. But Burton and Spielberg were not happy with the quality of the finished show, so it was hidden away for a while after ten epsiodes were shot (all shows have a 1992 copyright date); it was shown as a summer replacement. It's really not too bad but has a bad reputation. ABOUT THIS GUIDE: Episode titles come from the screen, as does all other pertinent information except production number, which follow the times. These come from the online Library of Congress Information Service (telnet://locis.loc.gov). This also showed there were two episodes shown on July 18, 1993, which I have no additional information about other than what is shown below. Everything in this guide (credit rollout, etc.) is currently based on the first eight episodes. I will correct errors as I find them or as they are pointed out to me. As stated above, I only have the first eight episodes, so I don't know what changes there are for episodes nine and ten. Note: Bruce McGill and Deanna Oliver are listed in the credits of each episode regardless of whether they appeared in the episode or not. Danny Elfman has probably been the hottest musical theme writer in the movies and television for the past several years. His credits include such films as "Batman" and TV shows as "The Simpsons." Steve Bartek has been his (I believe the term is) libretist for most of his projects. He was also his bandmate in the now-defunct LA new wave band Oingo Boingo.
